On January 1, a revised version of school board policy 2308 became effective in the Wake County Public School System. This policy pertains to the establishment of a tobacco-free environment on all school system property. The previous form of the policy pertained only to schools. However, the revised version also includes school system central services buildings. Furthermore, the possession of tobacco products in school system buildings and on school system properties is no longer permitted per this revised policy.
